Installing sewer pipe in the ground trench. House sewer drain pipe installation

How Does Trenchless Sewer Repair Save Time and Money?

You’ll probably suspect that something’s wrong with your sewer line well before you call in one of our plumbers to confirm it. You’ll see wet spots on your lawn, or all of your drains may be suddenly, inexplicably slow, or you may detect a bad odor. Even the increased presence of pests is a sign. Traditionally, the plumbers would have to dig a trench, find the broken part of the line and replace it. With trenchless repiping, the plumber just needs to create two access holes and then insert a video camera into your sewer line to find the problem. Then, they can either repair it with pipe bursting or pipe lining.

If you choose pipe bursting, the plumber pulls an implement slowly through the broken pipe. This bursts the pipe but also inserts a new and flexible sewer line. If you choose pipe lining, the plumber inserts an epoxy-coated sleeve into the original sewer line, inflates it, and lets it cure. This creates a new pipe. Read on to learn how trenchless sewer repair saves time and money.

No Excavation Needed

The repair team doesn’t need to excavate to get to your sewer line, and this alone saves you money. You’ll also save money because the plumbers don’t need to manually replace the broken section or sections of pipe with new piping, nor do they need to refill the trench and try to restore the look of your yard. You also won’t need to remove obstructions such as lawn furniture, toys, or even garden plants.

Doesn’t Take as Long as Traditional Line Repair

Trenchless sewer repair takes about a day, while traditional sewer repair can take as long as five days, depending on where the pipe is located and what material it’s made of. During that time, you won’t be able to use your plumbing. You may need to stay with a friend or a relative or book a room in a hotel.
